Our Expertise

GITI staff are experts in information processing, software development, and systems engineering, with backgrounds in computer science, engineering, mathematics, and operations research. Our research areas include machine learning, modeling for capturing users interests and context, policy management using ontology and semantic interoperability, agents for overcoming barriers to collaboration, knowledge-based reasoning systems, and information security. We form multi-disciplinary teams consisting of GITI staff and world-class researchers from academia to provide the best value and highest quality of research and solutions.

Our software architecture and development teams have extensive hands-on practical experience designing and developing distributed information systems. We have significant experience with developing custom applications using J2EE, Web Services, and JXTA.

We offer unique capabilities in transforming research projects from academia into user centric capabilities that can be transitioned and deployed in the real world. We have transitioned research projects into DoD communities and commercial products. Our hands-on experience with technologies such as agents, multi modal interfaces, advanced visualization, knowledge acquisition, collaboration, and knowledge management will contribute to the success of any program.
